The road leading to Pai was terriblé. It was not very many kilometers but the road was like a snake. We had a full little minibus and no music. The first half an hour was ok, just driving out of the city...then we hit the mountains and hell began. The road was narrow, steep and winding...I get very car sick so I was suffering bad, the other ple didnt look too happy either, except damien happily bopping around in the back...does nothing effect this boy???. After three horrible hours we got to a police check, slightly scary beacuse there were about a dussin soliders all with something like a AK:47, maybe the thai version. We were lucky today beacuse they smiled and waved us past, they looked much less scary when they smiled. Finally we reached Pai. Its a small village about 1000m above sea. Hot in the day but cold at night. As usual we wondered around and found a home for the night. This first night we took it easy just looking around, going out for dinner around 11pm (being used to the cities) and finding the town dead...opppsss, we forget that were in a small village. In the end we found a fried rice lady and got some chum. Nothing left to do but bed.

Bonjour et bienvenue a Pai, apres quelque heure de minibus et de route qui tourne et tourne et tourne ect sur environ 130km, de quoi mettre Ingrid malade comme il faut lol (a oui misss et tres malade en voiture) Miss penssais que les Francais conduisais comme des fous... et bien bienvenue dans les pays pauvre (Thailande ok/ Cambodge not ok) ou le code de la route et vraiment different, bienvenue magnifique route en terre ect ect... vous voyer se que je veux dire lol.

donc apres 3h30 de route nous voila rendu a Pai magnifique petit vilage a environ 1000 m au dessus du niveau de la mer; ou pour le premier jour on fais tres calme juste trouver une guest house ou posser nos gros sac a dos, pour visiter et trrouver quelque chose de moin cher pour la suite . soiree tranquil ou nous avons apris en ville 24/24 pour manger, a Pai apres 21h30/22h finit...

donc nous avons finit avec "fried rice" tipic thailandais.
