White Water Rafting!!!

One sees pictures of what rafting looks like...being thrown down mighty rivers in a little rubber dingy, water splahing everywhere and you hold on tight not to fall off....this is when the river is high! Its not in december...its very low and very quiet. The rafting was fun, the gear loked all action to me but there river lacked it all. We paddled for most of the way since there was basically no current to take us, splashed in a few rapids...fun but short and then paddled again. We were three boats and our boat was first almost all the time, we kicked thai ass. You see, there were only white people in our boat except for the guide and a woman with her toddler. She spoke english though and was pretty cool, amazinly enough so was the kid. The ride took about six hours. We saw monkeys on the beach, stopped by a hot water spring and lay in the warm water like pigs in mud. After a long day we reached the end and had a lovely 2 hours ride back to Pai, on the back of an open truck. Ive told you about the road to Pai and this time around was not very much better. Got back around nine at night, tired but very happy. Defintly coming back in june for the high river...more action wanted.

un autre jour a pai, une activiter differente. aujourd'hui rating avec un petit bateau... nous somme parti de pai a environ 7h30 pour aller a 1h30 de route ou nous pouvons avoir des rapides....on a eu la journee complete a descendre la riviere sur environ 45km, petit picknique en face de magnifique cascades, petite baignade dans les source d'eau chaude (28/30 degree), et a la tombe de la nuit enfin arriver au therme de notre periple en petit bateau... au cour de cette journnee nous avons apris quelques phrase en Thai, vue des singes, traversser la jungle ect.....et a lariver reprendre la voiture cette fois si pour 2h30 de route pour retourner sur Pai, pour ma pare j'ai dormi lol...

That was a pretty cool day...
